PA to Demand Israeli Guarantees on Borders

Senior Palestinian Authority leaders decided on Thursday night to demand guarantees that Israel agree on the general border of a future Palestinian state in order for peace talks to resume, reported the Associated Press.

The decision was made during a late-night meeting discussing U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s latest proposal for peace. Earlier reports indicated that the PA leaders had not reached any conclusions.

PA officials told AP they decided to send top negotiator Saeb Erekat to meet with Kerry "and inform him that Palestinians want guarantees regarding the general border."
