Jewish Home Leaders Oppose Pre-1967 Precondition

A number of ministers and Members of Knesset expressed their opposition, Thursday, to the notion of renewing talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) on the basis of Israel returning to the borders it held before the Six Day War of 1967. Minister Naftali Bennett, who heads Habayit Hayehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) said the party would not be a partner to such a precondition, which would mean uprooting Jews of Judea and Samaria (Shomron). He added that Jerusalem was not open for negotiation. Housing Minister Uri Ariel, also a member of Habayit Hayehudi, added that Israel would not freeze area Jewish communities, as well as his certainty that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu would abandon Israel's security.
