Shekel Down; US Dollar Outpaces Pound, Euro, Yen

The official value of the shekel declined an average of .557 percent, Thursday, against the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.601, up .699 percent from Wednesdays rate, while the Euro rose .374 percent to 4.7197 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.4805 shekels, up .691 percent, while 100 Japanese yen advanced .137 percent to NIS 3.5935. The Canadian dollar was fixed at 3.4568 shekels, up .41 percent, while its Australian counterpart gained .237 percent to NIS 3.3016, and the South African rand was set at .3659 shekels, up 1.639 percent.
