Arab League Backs Kerry's Efforts

Wall St Journal reports Secretary of State John Kerry won Arab League backing for the resumption of peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians, boosting chances of the first direct negotiations in nearly three years.

Neither side has agreed to direct talks, says WSJ, although the Arab League endorsement on Wednesday could build momentum for restarting the peace process.

Mr. Kerry is making his sixth trip to the Middle East since becoming Washington’s top diplomat in February.  WSJ adds he continued this week his aggressive efforts to restart the Arab-Israel peace process by meeting in Amman with representatives of the 22-member Arab League.
