Sudanese Migrant Accused of Raping Crippled Woman

Police arrested a 25-year-old Sudanese citizen living in Tel Aviv on suspicion of raping a young crippled woman in her home. It is suspected that the suspect broke into her house, threatened her with a knife, raped her and stealing money from the home.

There are many Sudanese migrants living in the Tel Aviv area. A small minority have been listed as refugees from the war torn Darfur region, while a majority have been labels migrant workers who illegally crossed in border from Egypt. Israel has been working to either repatriate them or send them to a third party country while issuing certain social services to those living in Israel.
