School Medical Assistants Extended to Summer Camps

Education Minister Shai Piron decided, Tuesday, to expand the employment of school medical assistants into July and to allow them to work in summer camps operated by local authorities and others under the ministry's supervision.

Rabbi Piron said, "Expanding the employment period of the assistant will give real equal opportunity to the population of students with special needs, in that it will allow these children to enjoy summer vacation camps as typical children do, [as well as] nature sites and sites of water and allow their parents to manage their work schedule in an orderly fashion. The Ministry of Education considers itself duty bound to kids, not only in school but also outside of it."
