Russia, China Veto Motion on Iranian Sanction Violation

Russia and China thwarted, Monday night, a vote by the United Nations Security Council that would have approved the finding of a panel of experts that Iran has violated sanctions against its nuclear development program. The experts said the violations came in the form of ballistic-missile tests this year, as well as the supplying of weapons to Syria, Yemen and the Hizbullah terror group.

While Russia was the most vocal opponent, with support from China, Australian ambassador Gary Quinlan said a number of countries opposed the resolution.
