The Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee approved, Monday, an amendment to regulations on the donation of human eggs, increasing the payment to a donor from 10,000 shekels to NIS 20,000. The doubling of the payment was proposed by the Health Ministry because of a small number of donations.
The amount will remain the same for women who are undergoing fertility treatments. The woman receiving the eggs will continue to pay 9,000 shekels. Implementation of the amendment is retroactive to May, when the previous amendments expired.
