President Shim'on Peres sent a festive greeting of reconciliation, friendship and peace to Muslims around the world, Monday, to mark the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. He said Ramadan was not just a holiday for Muslims since Jews are also children of Abraham. Adding Christians to the mix, Peres said they all pray to G-d to stop bloodshed, to allow children to live safely in their homes and to make the suffering of their mothers unnecessary, but it was up to all the parties to get together as believers and bring about peace.
The greeting was posted on the president's Facebook page and as a Youtube video. It was sent to millions of Muslims via social networks, central Websites and leading bloggers.
