Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid met on Friday afternoon with the heads of the defense establishment, who explained to them the meanings of the planned cuts to the defense budget.
Kol Yisrael radio reported that during the meeting, the defense officials stressed that next year the IDF will be forced to halt important ventures and dismiss permanent service soldiers, adding that the defense industry will be hurt as well. During the meeting, the sides discussed other options for reducing the deficit.
