The official value of the shekel rose an average of .287 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.607, down .221 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .404 percent to 4.7046 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.4611, down .146 percent, while 100 Japanese yen edged up .006 percent to NIS 3.6424. The Canadian dollar gained .265 percent to NIS 3.4818, while its Australian counterpart fell .823 percent to 3.3019 shekels. The South African rand plunged 1.427 percent to NIS .3593 and the Norwegian krone was fixed at .596 shekels, up .151 percent.
