Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchance ended the trading week, Thursday, with modest to sharp gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,098.25, up .58 percent from Wednesday, while the TA 100 rose .64 percent to 1,096.00, including an advance of seven tenths of a percent to 1,214.52 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 971.43, down two tenths of a percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which jumped 3.54 percent to 607.99, followed by the bank issues, which stood at 1,150.24, up 2.29 percent as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,120.22, up 1.55 percent, including a gain of .82 percent to 1,363.44 by the insurance stocks. The oil and natural-gas index stood at 1,106.18, up .66 percent, followed by the real-estate issues, which rose .37 percent to 353.83. Most of the technology stocks stood at 321.94, up .31 percent, while the biomed index declined .21 percent to 859.10.
