Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the first day of the trading week, Sunday, with modest to moderate gains. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,085.43, up .71 percent, while the same percentage gain meant a posting of 1,083.19, including an advance of .59 percent for the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 959.70, up .51 percent.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which climbed 1.6 percent to 863.65, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 315.79, up .66 percent. The real-estate stocks rose 1.02 percent to 352.09, up 1.02 percent, followed by the insurance index, which rose .95 percent to 1,335.67 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,101.84, up .81 percent, including a gain of .83 percent to 1,127.91 by the bank issues. The oil and natural-gas stocks, buoyed by the Supreme Court decision to allow the preparation of natural gas for export, advanced four tenths of a percent to 1,101.67, and the communications index declined .47 percent to 574.10.
