Shekel, Dollars Up; Yen Outpaces Euro, Pound

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .135 percent in mixed trading, Friday, against the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.645, up .33 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .597 percent to 4.6967 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.4698, down 1.256 percent, while 100 Japanese yen slid .167 percent to NIS 3.638. The Australian dollar advanced .503 percent to 3.3382 shekels, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.4609, up .272 percent, and the South African rand rose .553 percent to .3637 shekels.
