Obama Vows to Assist Egypt after Morsi

NPR reports, saying that the United States is "deeply concerned by the decision of the Egyptian Armed Forces to remove President Morsi and suspend the Egyptian constitution," President Obama calls on Egypt's military to preserve the rights and safety of its citizens.

The military coup could mean that the U.S. will reduce or cease the flow of aid to Egypt.

Saying, "No transition to democracy comes without difficulty," Obama concluded by stating that the United States "will continue to work with the Egyptian people to ensure that Egypt's transition to democracy succeeds," says NPR.
