As the elections for mayor and city council for cities and towns approaches, the Jewish Home party has announced it's top candidate for Maale Adumim. The city's deputy mayors, Nouriel Getz, will lead the Jewish Home party list in the local elections. Getz is the son of Rabbi Yehuda Meir Getz, the late chief rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Places in Jerusalem. Getz, together with the support of Jewish Home chairman and Minister of Economic Naftali Bennett, said he would use his term to strengthen Jewish heritage and address social issues in the city.
Today, the Jewish Home has three representatives on the Maale Adumim city council. Getz has lived in Maale Adumim for about 28 years and served as head of the religious council for 15 years.
