PA Sources: Autopsy in Dura Death

Palestinian Authority sources said, Tuesday, that an autopsy would be conducted to determine the cause of death of 19-year-old Moataz Sharawna, who was killed, Monday evening during clashes between stone throwers in the Judean Arab town of Dura and Israeli security forces, according to Agence France Presse. The autopsy delayed Sharawna's funeral to 4:30 p.m.

PA police and witnesses told AFP that the teenager was knocked down and killed by an Israeli military jeep after several hours of clashes, which began at midnight. An Israel military spokeswoman said several people had begun climbing onto one of the army vehicles. She added, "(The soldiers) warned the suspects and used riot dispersal means, and finally they responded with fire towards one of the suspects who was on the vehicle." Medics at nearby Hevron's Alia hospital told AFP that the victim had died after being run over, adding there was no immediate evidence of gunshot wounds on his body. The Israel Defense Forces are also investigating.
