Consecutive Life Sentences for Daniel Ma'oz

The Jerusalem District Court sentenced Daniel Ma'oz to two consecutive life sentences, Monday morning, for the August 2011 murders of his parents, Noah and Nurit, in Jerusalem's Ramot neighborhood. Five additional years were added on a conviction for destroying evidence in the case.

Although the defense tried to pin the blame on Daniel's twin brother Nir, Daniel had the motive of paying off gambling debts with his share of the inheritance. He testified to a gambling addiction and said he had staged a robbery to cover up his theft of $3,000 from his parents' safe.
