Tahrir Square Swells to a Million Anti-Morsi Protesters

About a million people turned out, Sunday evening in Cairo's Tahrir Square, for a demonstration calling on Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi to step down. An additional two million attended protests across the country, including the cities of Alexandria and Port Said. Morsi left the main presidential palace for an alternate named Al-Kubah, from where he monitored developments. Reports from Cairo say some demonstrators were present there too.

Following Friday's fatal violence, Egyptian media reported that 60,000 people left the country on 254 flights as of Sunday. Most of them were foreigners and wealthier Egyptians.
