Shekel Up; Euro Outpaces Dollars, Pound and Yen

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .696 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.618, down .822 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro declined .613 percent to 4.7197 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at 5.5206, down .882 percent, while 100 Japanese yen plunged 1.584 percent to NIS 3.6589. The Australian dollar was fixed at 3.3466 shekels, down 1.204 percent, while its Canadian counterpart fell 1.049 percent to NIS 3.4517 and the South African rand rose .221 percent to .3635 shekels.
