Negligence Charge in Death of Rabbi Nissan Shalom

An indictment was submitted to the Traffic Court in Petach Tikva, Friday morning, charging 66-year-old Muhamad Odeh of Kalansawa, east of Netanya, with negligence in the April death of Rabbi Nissan Shalom of the Samarian (Shomron) community of Elon More.

According to the indictment, Odeh's tractor-trailer was following another truck too closely on Highway 60. When the leading truck hit the brakes, Odeh swerved to the right and hit a wall. The back of the truck came back onto the road, hitting Rabbi Shalom's car.
