The official value of the shekel declined an average of .863 percent, Thursday, against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.648, up .885 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro rose .777 percent to 4.7488 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.5697 shekels, up .239 percent, while 100 Japanese yen gained .199 percent to NIS 3.7178. The Canadian dollar climbed 1.09 percent to NIS 3.4883, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.3874 shekels, up .711 percent. The South African rand advanced 1.172 percent to NIS .3627 and the Norwegian krone was set at .6009 shekels, up 1.452 percent.
