Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About 15 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,075.46, up .12 percent, while the TA 100 rose .13 percent to 1,072.96, including a .22-percent gain to 1,201.56 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 960.63, down .05 percent.
The same percentage loss meant a posting of 1,142.98 for the oil and natural-gas index, while the communications issues led the gainers, climbing 1.17 percent to 575.89. The bank stocks stood at 1,141.23, up .74 percent, with the same percentage increase putting the financial institutions at 1,109.77, including a .56-percent advance to 1,341.36 by the insurance index. The real-estate issues edged up .06 percent to 341.24 and the same percentage gain meant a posting of 305.66 for most of the technology stocks, while the biomed issues declined three tenths of a percent to 834.77.
