Cutoff of Egyptian Gas Cost the State NIS 677 Million

The cutoff of natural gas from Egypt in 2012 cost the state 677 million shekels ($187 million), according to the Finance Ministry's Accountant General, Michal Abadi-Boiangiu. Egypt stopped natural-gas sales to Israel after repeated sabotage of the pipeline. As a result, Israel had to use more costly diesel fuel.
