Bank Governor Fischer Demands Raise for Successor

In order to encourage candidacies for position of Israel Bank Governor, current IBG Stanley Fischer insisted his successor be offered 62,000 NIS instead of his 38,000 NIS.

Interior Committee Chairwoman Miri Regev says that during times of austerity it would be appropriate to maintain the current salary level.

Just for comparison, the Governor of the Bank of England is paid a monthly equivalent of approximately 290,000 NIS.
