Ashkenazi and Galant to Face C'tee about Harpaz Affair

Former chief of staff Gabi Ashkenazi of the Israel Defense Forces and reserves general Yoav Galant are scheduled to face the Knesset State Control Committee, Tuesday morning, when it starts a series of hearings regarding January's State Comptroller report about the "Harpaz Affair", a series of intrigues surrounding the naming of Ashkenazi's successor. The affair got its name from reserves officer Boaz Harpaz, who forged a document in which Galant was advised to engage in a smear campaign against other candidates for the job.

Also taking part will be former comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss, who wrote the report. Former defense minister Ehud Barak is abroad and will not take part.
