Finance Committee Chairman Welcomes Frenkel Nomination

Chairman Nissan Slomiansky of the Knesset Finance Committee welcomed, Sunday evening, the nomination of former governor Ya'akov Frenkel of the Bank of Israel to return to the post, which he held between 1991 and 2000. Slomiansky called the appointment "appropriate and suited for the challenges facing the Israeli economy at this time.

The appointment will be submitted to the Tuerkel Commission on senior civil-service appointments, after which it will be submitted to the cabinet.
