The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange ended the trading, week, Thursday, with modest to sharp losses. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,090.39, down 1.14 percent from Wednesday's close, while the TA 100 declined 1.12 percent to 1,087.60, including a .99-percent drop to 1,211.77 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 fell 2.14 percent to 518.38.
Worst hit was the communications index, which dropped 3.57 percent to 556.38, followed by the oil and natural-gas index, which stood at 1,159.04, down 2.12 percent. The biomed stocks lost 1.74 percent to 848.58, while the rest of the technology index stood at 313.76, down .99 percent. The insurance issues declined 1.63 percent to 1,410.02 as the financial institutions finished the day at 1,138.74, down 1.12 percent, including a loss of 1.28 percent to 1,157.06 by the bank stocks, and the real-estate index closed at 349.60, down 1.35 percent.
