The official value of the shekel rose an average of .096 percent, Thursday, against most of the other featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.63, up .924 percent from Wednesday's rate, while the Euro declined .501 percent to 4.7904 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at 5.6075 shekels, down .253 percent while 100 Japanese yen fell 1.996 percent to NIS 3.7029. The Australian dollar slumped 2.145 percent to 3.3389 shekels, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at NIS 3.5054, down .437 percent, and the rand took a 2.022-percent dive to .3537 shekels. The Norwegian krone was fixed at NIS .6109, down 2.49 percent, and the Swedish krona lost 1.337 percent to .5533 shekels.
