Elkin: Iranian Elections Make a Joke of Democracy

Deputy Foreign Minister Zev Elkin (Likud-Yisrael Beiteiu) referred to Iran's election results in a statement on Wednesday. He stated, "remember that the Iranian public selects a leader from a pre-approved government list who is chosen in advance... this is a joke of democracy. To speak of a fundamental change is a joke. Undoubtedly, however, the Iranian public expressed dissatisfaction with the current leadership, which proves again that the economic pressure on Iran weakens the regime," Elkin stated.
