Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange recorded modest losses at the start of trading on Tuesday. About 35 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,103.86, down .08 percent, while the TA 100 declined .11 percent to 1,100.98, including a drop of .13 percent to 1,227.35 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 rose .23 percent to 994.99.
Leading the gainers was the biomed index, which stood at 866.82, up .76 percent, while the rest of the technology issues advanced .01 percent to 316.72. The real-estate stocks slipped .04 percent to 356.53, followed by the bank index, which stood at 1,178.45, down .05 percent, as the financial institutions lost .06 percent to 1,154.79, including a .38-percent fall to 1,416.94 by the insurance issues. The communications stocks stood at 587.66, down .08 percent, while the oil and natural-gas index fell .58 percent to 1,168.36.
