Suit to Recover Advances to Parties from 2009 Elections

The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed suit, Sunday, against four parties who refused to return campaign funds advanced them by the state after they failed to cross the one-percent threshhold in the elections for the last Knesset. The Aliya"h, Meimad and Tzomet parties are each being asked to return 870,000 shekels, while the Gil pensioners' party owes NIS 5.22 million.

The suit follows a November 2011 district-court ruling against the Chetz party, upheld last July by the Supreme Court.
