The Hebrew University of Jerusalem will confer 375 doctor of philosophy and doctor of law degrees on Sunday at its annual commencement exercises. It's the most doctorates awarded since the school was established and the largest graduating class in the state of Israel. This is the second consecutive year in which more women (205) than men (170) will receive doctoral degrees, and the first year that more women than men will receive a doctorate in the exact sciences: 120 women compared to 104 men. Outside of the exact sciences, more women (85) than men (66) will also receive doctoral degrees.
Ten people, including former Mexican president Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León, will receive honorary doctorates. Artist and philanthropist Barbra Streisand will be similarly honored in a separate ceremony on Monday
