Bill to Teach Anti-Racism to First Graders Rejected

The Knesset rejected on Wednesday a preliminary reading of a bill to teach anti-racism in the school system. The bill was submitted by Member of Knesset Esawi Frij (Meretz Party). It called for the Minister of Education to issue weekly educational activities on racism awareness and ways of dealing with racism from first grade through high school. The bill was opposed by a vote of 39 MKs and supported by 36 MKs.
