Former Interior Minister Eli Yishai (Shas Party) said Tuesday that an apology was in order now that the identity of the Bar Noar shooter has been revealed. Two people were killed and about ten wounded in the attack that occurred in 2009. Yishai, now a Member of Knesset, stated, "remember four years ago, once the news of the murder hit and before the investigation began, they waved signs against hareidim blaming them in one way or another." Yishai said. He called it "a stain on an entire community, through no fault of their own. This requires public reflection." Some theorized that a hareidi person had shot up the Bar Noar locale out of religious conviction. The suspected killer and his accomplices had their identities released on Tuesday after a lengthy police investigation. Reports indicate the suspects have a criminal background and were previously involved in criminal activity.
