Tel Aviv Stocks Open with Modest Losses

Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest losses. About 40 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,110.84, down a quarter of a percent, while the TA 100 declined .28 percent to 1,108.82, including a drop of .36 percent to 1,232.79 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues.

The lone bright spot was the oil and natural-gas index, which rose .39 percent to 1,161.15. Most of the technology issues slipped an average of .06 percent to 321.30, while the biomed stocks stood at 856.31, down .09 percent, and the real-estate index lost a percent to 360.20.
