The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened trading, Monday morning, with modest gains in mixed trading. About two hours into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,109.84, up .01 percent, while the TA 100 was down .01 percent at 1,108.28, despite an advance of .03 percent to 1,233.04 by the TA 25 most-widely invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 rose .37 percent to 984.03.
Leading the gainers was the communications, index, which climbed 1.06 percent to 556.50, followed by the biomed issues, which stood at 855.29, up .46 percent, while the rest of the technology stocks gained .28 percent to 320.27, and the real-estate index stood at 362.08, up .12 percent. The oil and natural-gas issues slipped .09 percent to 1,159.74, while the bank stocks stood at 1,187.86, down .35 percent, as the financial institutions declined .54 percent to 1,159.46, including a nine-tenths of a percent drop to 1,416.00 by the insurance index.
