Tension between Lapid, Netanyahu on Arbitration Act

Finance Minister Yair Lapid summoned Kobi Amsalem, the Treasury's man in charge of wages, for a clarification on Thursday, after he was informed that Amsalem had taken part in a Wednesday meeting at the Prime Minister's Office regarding legislation requiring mediation in labor disputes without informing him.

Israel Defense Forces Radio reports that Lapid is against the law and does not view it as a priority, while sources in the Prime Minister's Office have made it clear that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is promoting the proposal as a way to fight the strong unions in the economy and considers it a central priority.
