Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange opened Tuesday trading with modest gains. About 75 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,110.85, up a tenth of a percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 1,109.12 for the TA 100, including a .12-percent advance to 1,229.09 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 stood at 987.46, up .11 percent.
Leading the gainers was the communications index, which rose .89 percent to 552.41. Next came the bank issues, which stood at 1,183.50, up .57 percent as the financial institutions gained .45 percent to 1,164.11, including an advance of .09 percent to 1,438.05 by the insurance stocks. The real estate index stood at 366.37, up .47 percent and the biomed issues advanced two tenths of a percent to 875.03, while the rest of the technology issues stood at 321.67, down .45 percent. The oil and natural-gas issues slipped .14 percent to 1,160.22.
