U.S., Germany Warn About Violence in Turkey

The U.S. embassy in Turkey has issued a warning to its citizens in Turkey about potential violence, the Turkish daily Hurriyet reported on Monday night. According to the report, the embassy issued a warning letter to American citizens, reminding of the tension in the country that has been ongoing since last week.

Meanwhile, reported the Hurriyet, the German Foreign Ministry has urged German citizens to stay away from demonstrations in Turkey.

Germany also called on Monday for calm and for dialogue in Turkey, after days of clashes between anti-government protesters and police.
