Swastikas Spray Painted on Mount Eval

About 100 hikers from the Elon Moreh hesder yeshiva who visited Mount Eval and Joshua's altar on Friday were shocked to discover that swastikas had been spray-painted near the site of the murder of Rabbi Binyamin Herling, who was killed by terrorists in 2000.

Benny Katzover, chairman of the Shomron Residents' Committee said in response, "The swastika is a vile symbol of racist and murderous ideology, and it is clear that drawing this symbol anywhere in the world is a despicable act - so much more so at a place that is holy to Judaism and is close to a military base."
