3rd Anniversary of Rabbi Eliyahu's Passing on Sunday

The main memorial observance to mark three years since the passing of former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu is scheduled for Sunday at 18:30 at his gravesite in the Har Hamenuchot cemetery in Jerusalem.

There will be two memorial observances before and after that at the Heichal Ya'akov Synagogue in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Jerusalem, where Rabbi Eliyau prayed and studied. The first, accompanied by study and the Se'udah Shelishit meal is scheduled to begin at 16:00 on Shabbat, with the participation of major rabbis. Monday afternoon at 4:00, there will be a series of lessons in his memory, culminating at 8:00 p.m. with a lesson given by his son, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Tzfat, based on his father's philosophy.
