Ya'alon Withdraws Opposition to PA Jordan Valley City

The plan to build a Palestinian Authority city in the Jordan Valley is continuing, following the removal of Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon's opposition to the project, according to a Friday-morning report by the Ma'ariv daily. Nu'imah, as the city stands to be called, is planned for Area C of Samaria (Shomron), under Israeli security control in the Jordan Valley Council region.

Immediately following Ma'ariv's original report, Ya'alon instructed Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Eitan Dangot to stop the plans. He apparently withdrew his opposition after reviewing plans for the city.
