Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said Tuesday that "the S-300 missiles have not yet been transferred from Russia to Bashar al-Assad's army. If they are transferred, we will know how to respond."
The government of Russia had planned to ship the long range missiles to Syria, which is currently in the midst of a civil war between the forces of President Bashar al-Assad and Syrian rebel groups. Syria is Israel's neighbor to the north. Several cross-border incidents have occurred in the past two months.
