Bizreport says teens are gradually avoiding Facebook.
One reason for the cooling off of teens' Facebook use, says Bizreport, is that it is increasingly seen as a 'social burden'. Seventy percent of teen Facebook users say they're friends with their parents on the social network, and 91% are friends with members of their extended family. Bizreport adds that coupled with this, teens say they are 'drained with the drama' that often unfolds on Facebook, the need to constantly manage their reputation and, of course, the prevalence of adults on the site. Nasty or inane conversations, most of which would never happen in real life, are turning teens away, concludes Bizreport.
