Perry Committee Lowers Haredi Draft Quota

NRG reports a document accepted by the Perry Committee for shared burden states the Hareidi IDF recruiting goals during the transition period (until 2017) were reduced compared to what was agreed in the coalition agreement.

According to the document, in 2014 the recruitment target was reduced from 2,500 to 2,300 recruits, in 2015  from 3,000 to 2,700, and in 2016 from 3,600 to 3,200.

The document also reveals that according to the expected recommendations, Yeshivas not meeting the quota will lose funding, soldiers enlisting after the age of 21 and will receive a reduced bonus and deposit, and married soldiers' family payments will be reduced.
