Deputy Foreign Minister Ze'ev Elkin met with the Foreign Minister of Lithuania, Linas Linkevicius Tuesday afternoon. They discussed various issues on the Israeli agenda, and Elkin requested the assistance of Lithuania regarding Israel's participation in European (Horizon 2020) R & D (research and development) programs that could run into political obstacles.
They also discussed having the EU label Hezbollah as a terrorist organization. The Deputy Minister explained the importance of such a decision, especially given Hezbollah involvement in acts of mass murder around the world.
The meeting has extra significance, as Lithuania will preside over the EU starting July.
