Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest to sharp gains to open the trading week. The TA Composite Index closed at 1,100.83, up eight tenths of a percent, while the TA 100 rose .76 percent to 1,097.36, including a .57-percent hike to 1,222.72 by the TA 25 most-widely-invested issues. The stocks outside the TA 100 climbed 1.56 percent to 997.03.
The gainers were led by most of the technology index, which jumped 2.89 percent to 322.32, while the biomed issues stood at 860.24, up .97 percent. The real-estate stocks climbed 1.13 percent to 345.54, while the financial institutions finished the day at 1,117.59, up .57 percent. The bank component advanced .54 percent to 1,157.62, and the insurance stocks stood at 1,351.47, up .52 percent. The communications index edged up .15 percent to 542.25, while the oil and natural-gas issues declined .43 percent to 1,166.76.
