Shekel, US Dollar Up; Pound Outpaces Euro, Yen

The official value of the shekel rose an average of .317 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.647, up .247 percent from Tuesday's rate, while the Euro declined .685 percent to 4.697 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 5.5591, down .131 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .872 percent to 3.5566 shekels. The Australian dollar dived 1.211 percent to NIS 3.5826, while its Canadian counterpart was fixed at 3.5784 shekels, down .556 percent, and the South African rand plunged 1.717 percent to NIS .3893.
