Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon has ordered that plans for a new Palestinian Authority city in the Jordan Valley be frozen, according to a Tuesday report by the Ma'ariv daily, which reported on Monday that Israel planned to transfer 2,000 dunam/500 acres of land from the Jordan Valley Council region for the Jericho-area project.
Following the Monday report, the Yisrael Sheli (My Israel) movement asked tens of thousands of its members to ask Ya'alon to stop the program.
